Gators Defeat Auctioneers
The Lake View Wild Gators defeated the Mullins Auctioneers 15-0 in the 3-inning, 15-run rule varsity baseball game played in Lake View on Friday, March 19.
Although Michael McInnis and Noah Carter both pitched in the no-hit win. Lake View’s Michael McInnis picked up the win. He pitched 2 innings and allowed no hits, no runs, walked 1, and struck out 6.
Mullins’ Matthew Johnson was tagged with the loss. He pitched allowed 9 runs of which 8 were earned, walked 7, and struck out no one.
Lake View will host Johnsonville today (Tuesday, March 23) at 6:00 p.m.

Vikings Get Win Over Flashes
The Latta Vikings returned home on Friday, March 19, with an 8-6 win over the Johnsonville Golden Flashes in varsity baseball action played in Johnsonville.
Latta was the first to get onto the scoreboard as the Vikings placed 2 runs in the top of the fourth inning.
It was not until the top of the seventh inning that another score was made when Latta placed 6 runs onto the scoreboard. However, Johnsonville also placed 6 runs onto the scoreboard.
Latta’s Christian Brigman picked up the win. He pitched 6 innings and allowed no runs, struck out 5, and walked 2. Collin Minshew pitched 1 inning and allowed 6 runs of which 1 was earned, struck out 1, and walked 2.
Johnsonville’s J. Truesdale was tagged with the loss. He pitched 6 innings and allowed 2 runs of which 1 was earned, struck out 2, walked 2, and allowed 1 home run. R. Baxley pitched 2 innings. He allowed 6 runs of which 2 were earned, struck out 3, and walked 2.
Latta committed 5 errors, and Johnsonville committed 4 errors. The Latta Vikings connected for 8 hits. Bulldogs Get Win Over Wildcats
The Marlboro County Bulldogs invaded Dillon Memorial Baseball Stadium on Wednesday, March 17, on a cold evening and left with a 7-2 win over the Dillon Wildcats in varsity baseball.
Marlboro County jumped out to an early 2-0 lead in the top of the first inning, added 4 runs in the top of the second inning, and a final run in the top of the seventh inning before Dillon managed to score 2 runs in the bottom of the seventh inning.
Marlboro County connected for 11 hits in the game. Jesse Williams was perfect at the plate with a double, a single, and 2 rbi in his 2 at-bats while Michael Norris connected for 2 hits and a rbi in 3 at-bats. Levi Radford had a hit and 2 rbi in his 3 at-bats. Adam Nolan added a hit and a rbi in his 5-at-bats while Tristan Hunt connected for 2 hits in his 4-at-bats. Markey Purvis and Tanner Cheek each had a hit in 3 at-bats. Brandon Murphy picked up a hit in his 4 at-bats.
Dillon Wildcats managed 5 hits in the game with Jamieson Pittman who picked up a rbi and a hit in his 2 at-bats while Brenden Miles connected for 2 hits in his 3 at-bats. BoBo McKinnon had a hit in his 2 at-bats, and Chandler Pittman connected for a hit in his 3 at-bats.
The Bulldogs’ Tanner Cheek picked up the win. He pitched 6 innings and allowed 4 hits, 2 earned runs, walked 1, and struck out 9. The Wildcats’ Austin Miles was tagged with the loss. He pitched 3 innings and allowed 9 hits, 6 earned runs, 1 walk, and struck out 3.

Lady Wildcats Lose 5-1 Over Lady Bruins
The Dillon Lady Wildcats lost 5-1 to the South Florence Lady Bruins in a non-conference varsity softball game played in Florence on Monday, March 15.
Dillon opened the game but was unsuccessful in scoring in the top of the first inning.
South Florence, on the other hand, placed a run on the scoreboard when Katie Catoe singled and a run scored.
Neither team could muster any offense in the second inning. However, in the top of the third inning, Dillon’s Abby Bristow hit a home run to place Dillon on the scoreboard. This tie score would not last long as South Florence responded with 2 runs in the bottom of the third inning when Makayla Arcenneaux doubled and picked up a rbi and Delaney Timmon’s sac fly scored the second run of the inning.
The next two innings saw no scores but in the bottom of the sixth inning South Florence again placed 2 runs on the scoreboard.
Paige Sherman was tagged with the loss for Dillon while Payton Perry picked up the win. Sherman pitched 6 innings and struck out 4 and allowed 8 hits. Dillon picked up 7 hits in the game with Abby Bristow connecting for a home run and a single in 3 at-bats while Paige Sherman and Cierra Grice each had 2 singles in 3 at-bats. Jenascia Lester had a single in 3 at-bats. South Florence’s Kentara Fulton was perfect at the plate with a triple and 2 singles in 3 at-bats. Sidlney Morgan was also perfect at the plate with a single in her 1 at-bat and a rbi. Gracelyn Flowers had a single in 2 at-bats while Katie Catoe had a single and a rbi in 3 at-bats. Makayla Arcenneaux had a double and a rbi in the game while while Larissa Siders had a single in 4 at-bats. Delaney Timmons picked up a rbi in the game.
Dillon committed 2 errors in the game while South Florence did not commit any errors. Support your team.

Lady Eagles Defeat Lady Warriors
Pee Dee Academy Lady Eagles defeated the Dillon Christian School Lady Warriors 17-0 in the 15-run, 3-inning varsity softball game played in Mullins on Friday, March 19.
Dillon Christian School will host Marlboro Academy today (Tuesday, March 23) at 5:00 p.m.

PDA Hands Loss To DCS
The Pee Dee Academy Eagles handed the visiting Dillon Christian School Warriors a 9-4 loss in Mullins in varsity baseball action played on Friday, March 19.
Dillon Christian School took a 1-0 lead in the top of the first inning. However, Pee Dee responded with a run of their own in the bottom of the first inning to knot the score at 1.
The game remained tied at 1 until the Eagles placed 2 runs on the scoreboard in the bottom of the third inning. The Eagles added a run in the bottom of the fourth inning.
The Dillon Christian School Warriors added 3 runs in the top of the fifth inning to knot the score at 4. However, the Pee Dee Eagles added 3 runs in the bottom of the fifth to once again take a 3-run lead.
The Eagles added 2 runs in the bottom of the seventh inning to claim the 9-4 win.
The Eagles’ Gabe Estes picked up the win. He pitched 3 innings and allowed 3 hits, 1 earned run, walked 3, and struck out 7.
The Warriors’ Colby Thorndyke was tagged with the loss. He pitched 5 innings and allowed 8 hits, 7 runs of which 5 were earned, walked 2, and struck out 5.
The Eagles collected 11 hits in the game led by Cam Weston who had 3 hits and a rbi in 4 at-bats while Reyn Watson had 2 hits and a rbi in 4 at-bats. Caleb Oakley had a hit and a rbi in 2 at-bats. Gabe Estes and Hughes Elvington each had a hit and a rbi in 4-at-bats. Colby Sinclair had a double and a single in 4 at-bats. Colton Caulder had a triple in 3 at-bats.
The Warriors had 5 hits in the game. Colby Thorndyke had a hit and a rbi in 2 at-bats, and Jacob Conner had a hit and a rbi in 4 at-bats. Trent Johnson and Austin Heasley each had a hit in 2 at-bats. Cooper Lane had a hit in 4 at-bats.
Each team committed 2 errors in the game.

Lady Wildcats Defeat Lady Gators
The Dillon Lady Wildcats came from behind to defeat the Lake View Lady Wild Gators 6-5 in Lake View on Friday, March 19, on a cold, windy evening.
The Lady Wildcats connected for a run in the top of the first inning on a Wilson single.
The Lady Wild Gators knotted the score at 1 in the bottom of the first inning.
The game remained tied until the bottom of the third inning when Lake View picked up 3 runs on a error. Lake View led 4-1 after 3 innings.
Dillon tied the game in the top of the fourth inning with 3 runs of their own. However, this lead would be short-lived as Lake View placed a run on the scoreboard in the bottom of the fourth inning to take a 5-4 lead.
It was not until the sixth inning that Dillon tied the game when Cierra Grice connected for a double.
In the top of the seventh inning, Qy Wilson hit a solo home run to take a 6-5 lead that Dillon held onto in the bottom of the seventh inning to take the win over Lake View.
This was a very exciting, well-played game by both teams.
This game saw a total of 25 hits of which Dillon had 16. But, Dillon also committed 2 errors while Lake View did not commit any errors.
Dillon’s Qy Wilson had a homer, a double, a single, and 2 rbi while Cierra Grice had a 2 doubles, a single, and 2 rbi. Chesney Caddell had a single and a rbi. Abby Bristow, Lexie Rogers, and Jenascia Lester each had 2 singles while Ny Wilson and Paige Sherman each had a single. Logan Grice had a double.
Lake View’s Emma King had 2 singles and 2 rbi while Raven Locklear had a single and 2 rbi. Baxleigh Arnette had 3 singles in the game. Becca Cox, Spivey Evans, and Haley Miller each had a single.
Paige Sherman started on the mound for Dillon and pitched 2 innings. She allowed 4 runs, 4 hits, struck out 1, and walked 3. Chesney Caddell picked up the win. She pitched 5 innings and allowed a run, 5 hits, struck out 4, and walked 1.
Lake View’s Raven Locklear suffered the loss. She pitched the entire game and allowed 6 runs, 16 hits, struck out 2, and walked no one.
Lake View will host Johnsonville today (Tuesday, March 23) at 6:00 p.m.
Dillon will host Waccamaw on Thursday, March 25, at 6:30 p.m.

Lady Vikings Fall To Lady Knights
The Latta Lady Vikings lost 8-4 to the visiting West Florence Lady Knights on Friday, March 19, in Latta in varsity softball action.
The Lady Knights placed a run on the scoreboard in the top of the first inning that was answered by 2 Latta Lady Vikings’ runs in the bottom of the first inning on a ground-out by Maddie Berry followed by another run in the bottom of the third inning to give Latta a 3-1 lead.
In the fourth inning each team scored a run.
West Florence picked up 2 runs in the top of the sixth inning and 4 runs in the top of the seventh inning.
Latta’s Jayla Jackson pitched 6 innings and allowed 5 hits, 4 runs, struck out 6, and walked 1. Jena Stutler pitched 0.1 inning and allowed 1 hit. Latta’s Maddie Berry was tagged with the loss. She pitched 0.2 inning and allowed 3 hits, 4 runs of which none were earned, walked 1, and struck out no one.
West Florence’s Ali Meeker picked up the win. She pitched 7 innings and allowed 10 hits, 4 runs of which 2 were earned, walked 2, and struck out no one.
West Florence did not commit an error in the game while Latta committed 5 errors.
The Lady Knights connected for 7 hits. Abigail Gibbs had 2 singles, a double, and 3 rbi in 4 at-bats while Summer Holland had a triple, a double, and a rbi in 4 at-bats. Mia Boykin and Kaylee Windham each had a single in 3 at-bats. Erin Huggins garnered a rbi.
The Lady Vikings connected for 10 hits. Jayla Jackson had 2 singles and rbi in 2 at-bats. Maddie Berry had a single and a rbi in 4 at-bats. Emily Smith had 2 singles in 3 at-bats. Jena Stutler had a double and a single in 4 at-bats. Abigail Cooper had a double in 3 at-bats. Ragan Bethea had a single in 2 at-bats. Blake Hatchell had a single in 3 at-bats.

Lady Wildcats Come Up Short Against Bruins
The Dillon Lady Wildcats came up short 11-8 on Wednesday, March 17, in varsity softball action played against the South Florence Lady Bruins in a game played in Dillon.
The Lady Wildcats managed to prevent the Lady Bruins from getting on the scoreboard in the top of the first inning as Cierra Grice caught a pop-up by Larissa Siders and threw out Angelle Siders as she attempted to return to first base for a double play.
Dillon’s Paige Sherman got Dillon’s offense going with a hit to center followed by a Abby Bristow double to center to place runners on second and third. Sherman scored when the ball got away on a pitch to home, and Bristow scored on a sac fly by Qy Wilson to give Dillon a 2-0 lead.
In the top of the third inning, the Lady Bruins’ Payton Perry hit a grounder to third and arrived safely at first. Perry advanced safely to second on a pitch to home. Sidney Morgan garnered a walk followed by Angelle Siders who also picked up a walk to load the bases. With 2 outs, Makayla Arcenneaux hit one deep to left field on the line for a double and 3 rbi. A pitch to home allowed Arcenneaux to advance to third. Katie Catoe walked to place runners on the corners. Delaney Timmons hit a grounder between third and second for a single and a rbi to give the Lady Bruins a 4-2 lead.
Dillon’s Janascia Lester lined one to right for out 1 in the bottom of the third inning followed by Cierra Grice wo lined one to right for a single but was thrown out returning to first base. Paige Sherman arrived safely to first on a hit over single. However, the inning ended with a hot line drive to second by Abby Bristow.
South Florence added 4 runs in the top of the fourth inning, and Dillon responded with 3 runs in the bottom of the fourth inning.
The Lady Bruins added a run in the top of the sixth, and the Lady Wildcats added 2 runs in the bottom of the sixth inning.
South Florence added 2 runs in the top of the seventh inning. The Wildcats were able to get a run across in the bottom of the seventh inning but they came up short 11-8.
Sidney Morgan picked up the win. She pitched 7 innings and allowed 11 hits, 8 runs, walked 4, and struck out 1.
Chesney Caddell was tagged with the loss. She also pitched 7 innings and allowed 11 hits, 11 runs, walked 8, and struck out 7.
Each team committed an error in the game.
Dillon’s Qy Wilson had a triple, a double, and a rbi while Cierra Grice had 2 singles and 2 rbi. Logan Grice had a double, a single, and a rbi. Paige Sherman connected for 2 singles while Abby Bristow had a double and 2 stolen bases, and Lexie Rogers had a single. Janascia Lester and Chesney Caddell each had a rbi.
The Lady Wildcats managed 6 stolen bases in the game.
South Florence’s Gracelyn Flowers had a triple, 2 singles, and 3 rbi. Larissa Siders and Delaney Timmons each had 2 singles and 2 rbi. Makayla Arcenneaux had a double and 3 rbi. Kentara Fulton had a double, and Payton Perry had a single.
The Dillon Lady Wildcats will host Waccamaw on Thursday, March 25, at 6:30 p.m.
