Bobo McKinnon Signs To Play At Next Level

Although he received offers from other colleges, BoBo McKinnon took the next step in his football and education career by signing to play on the next level at Highland Community College in Kansas on Wednesday, February 24, at the Dillon High School Lions Den Gym.
In Coach Hayes’ absence, Assistant Athletic Director Zach Hayes welcomed everyone to the event and thanked BoBo McKinnon for his time with the Dillon Wildcats. Additionally, he thanked BoBo’s Family for his contributions to BoBo’s time on the football field.
BoBo has played football since he was able to walk. The talented athlete also plays basketball and baseball.
McKinnon was influenced by his two older brothers: George and Kanore McKinnon.
BoBo believes he will be a good fit at Highland Community College where he has been given an opportunity to better his football skills and his academics.
Playing football at Dillon High School has matured BoBo into a “man” for the “real world”.
He will take his knowledge of football and his newly found respect with him as he ventures into the “real world”.
While majoring in special education, BoBo will probably play wide receiver, defensive back, or punter, or a combination.
McKinnon received awards such as “The All Zone Team and the All-State Defensive Back”.
In McKinnon’s spare time, he enjoys traveling and shopping. However, due to Covid-19, this has slowed down. Primarily at this time he enjoys spending time with his family.
BoBo is the son of the late Thomesha S. McKinnon and Sherma J. Whittington.
McKinnon appreciates all of his coaches in his career. He extends special thanks to Coach Twin for training him when he was 8 years old and to Coach Page for being a “special mentor”. He recognized Coach “T” for being every high school player’s “dream coach”. And he thanks Coaches Spivey and Ray for making certain that he stayed current with his schoolwork and helped make this day come true. Of course, he thanked Coach Hayes for the opportunity to play with the Wildcats…and especially for giving his Mom the trust to play for Coach Hayes and the Wildcats.
BoBo’s family is extremely proud of his accomplishments both on and off the field. They both eagerly await great things to take place in his life as he pursues his education and love of football.
Coach Zach Hayes thanked BoBo for his playing for the Wildcats and also thanked BoBo’s family for allowing him to play as a Wildcat. Coach Hayes extended best wishes for a great future in obtaining an education and enjoying football at the same time. Coach Hayes stated “We look forward to hearing of your accomplishments.”
