BREAD OF LIFE: He Will Carry You

By Pastor Stan Rankin
I once heard about a man who was walking down a country road carrying a sack with a heavy load in it. A farmer stopped by and asked him if he would like a ride. The man climbed aboard the wagon. After a mile or so, a fellow in the wagon saw that the man with the heavy sack still had it on his back. The fellow traveler said to him, “Why don’t you take the heavy load off your back. Don’t you know the wagon can hold both you and your load?”

The life of faith in God is much like that. We come to Christ and give Him our life. He lifts us up out of sin and carries us in His arms. Yet, we often try to keep the load of worry and cares on our backs. We strain and wear ourselves out in our own efforts until we faint. All we need to do is realize that we can lean our whole weight and cast all our burdens on the Lord. He is more able to carry us than any other vehicle known to man. When all else fails, the Everlasting, Eternal God will carry you through.
Deuteronomy 33:27 “The eternal God is thy refuge, and underneath are the everlasting arms: and he shall thrust out the enemy from before thee…
Psalm 55:22 “Cast thy burden upon the Lord, and he shall sustain thee; he shall never suffer the righteous to be moved.”
1 Peter 5:7 “Casting all your care upon Him; for He cares for you.”
