Gators Suffer Close Loss To Flashes

The Lake View Wild Gators returned home on Monday, February 8, having suffered a close loss, 64-58, to the Johnsonville Flashes in Johnsonville in varsity basketball action.
Lake, lead over the Flashes. Lake View was outscored 15-9 in the third period to fall behind by 3 points. The Wild Gators were unable to overcome the deficit and dropped the decision.
Lake View’s Michael McInnis had a game-high 22 points on six 3-point baskets and two 2-point baskets. Raekwon McNeil contributed 15 points on the scoreboard with four 2-point baskets, a 3-point basket, and 4 free throws. Marquise Johnson added four 2-point buckets for 8 points. Raejon Rogers connected on two 3-point baskets for 6 points, and Da’Correus Ford added a 2-point basket and 2 free throws. Shaheed Dawkins had 2 free throws, and D J Bethea also garnered a free throw.

The Johnsonville Flashes’ Quez Lewis pumped in 15 points in the win by connecting on six 2-point baskets, a 3-point basket, and 6 free throws. Jace Arant added 12 points to the scoreboard on three 2-point baskets, a 3-point basket, and 3 free throws. J J Coles and Wyatt Smith each sank three 2-point baskets for 6 points each while Walker Gamble and Tyland Timmons each had two-2-point baskets and a free throw for 5 points each. Jordan Williams sank two 2-point baskets for 4 points while Travis Wilson connected on a 2-point basket and 2 free throws for 4 points.
Lake View committed 10 fouls each in the first half and the second half while Johnsonville committed 10 fouls in the first half and 5 fouls in the second half.
Lake View will travel to Lamar on Friday, February 12.
