Kyle Berry Recognized For School Board Service

Kyle Berry, a Latta School Board Trustee, has been recognized by the South Carolina School Boards Association for 15 years of school board service.
He is currently serving his fifth year as Chair of the Latta School Board.
Berry is a 1990 graduate of Latta High School and a 1997 graduate of Clemson University with a major in civil engineering.
He has been employed with SCDOT for 23 years and is currently a District Engineer Administrator.
Berry and his wife Crystal, who is a school nurse and a 1995 graduate of Latta High School and a 1999 USC graduate in nursing, have two daughters attending Latta Middle School.
Maddie is in 8th grade as a honor student and stellar athlete. Hannah Lauren is in 5th grade and is also a honor student and skilled performing artist.
Veteran school board members provide vision and valuable leadership for school districts.
The South Carolina School Boards Association is happy to honor these board members for their long term dedication to improving student achievement in their communities.
In January 2021 in South Carolina, about 30 percent of the state’s approximately 650 school district and affiliate board members had served 10 years or more of board service. Almost 50 percent of the membership has served less than 4 years.
The association is a non-profit organization serving as a source of information and a statewide voice for local school boards governing the 79 school districts in South Carolina.
