Main Street UMC Men Distribute Food Boxes For Christmas

The Main Street United Methodist Men and the entire church are busy with the annual distribution of food boxes to those throughout Dillon County who are less fortunate.
On the cold morning of Saturday, December 19, church members and volunteers gathered at the church to distribute the food boxes to 73 families who are in need. These families received a blessing of nearly $10,000.00 of food that was mostly donated.
Some items in the boxes are ham, turkey, chicken, bacon, potatoes, dry goods, etc.
Ronnie “Catfish” Carter, who headed the project, stated “This should feed a family of 5 for probably a month.”
Dr. Phil Wallace echoed the statement and added “God is good.” Both expressed appreciation to the many volunteers and the many donations.
“We are blessed to be able to help those less fortunate, and Dillon County certainly takes care of its own,” Carter exclaimed.
