Billy Ray Webster

Billy Ray Webster, 75, passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 23, 2020 at Regency Hospital in Florence after an illness.
Born in Dillon County, SC, on October 9, 1944, he was the son of the late Howard Webster and Thelma Hyatt Webster. He began working for Craftex Industries in Latta as a sewing machine mechanic the first day the company opened and remained a faithful and valuable employee until it closed permanently He later worked for Heritage Sportswear in Marion until it closed. He was a member of Sardis Baptist Church in Latta and a former member of the Barney Gumpond Hunting Club. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend.
Graveside services were held 3:00 [p.m. Sunday at Greenlawn Cemetery directed by Cooper Funeral Home. Dr. James Orr officiated. Visitation was 1:45-2:30 p.m. at the funeral home prior to the service. Survivors include his wife, Marilyn, of Floyd Dale; son, Michael Ray Webster of Floyd Dale; daughter, Teresa W. Taylor (Phillip) of Floyd Dale; grandchildren, Katelyn W. Hooks (Noah), Megan Webster, Courtney Cox (Matthew), Luke Godwin, Haley Jones, Brook Jones, Scott Taylor and Samantha Paige Anderson; great-grandchildren, Jonah Hooks, Rylan Anderson and Rae’lyn Anderson; brothers, O’Neal Webster (Joyce) of Floyd Dale and Larry Webster (Polly) of Timmonsville; sisters, Sheryl Rowell (Leverne) of Latta, Phyllis Anderson of Dillon, and Barbara McLellan (Jackie) of Lexington, SC; and his fur baby, Henry.
He was preceded in death by his parents listed above; a sister, Linda Taylor; and a brother in law, Andy Anderson.
