In a single game on Tuesday, KiKi Palmer’s two-run homer in the first inning for the Yankees was all it took to take a 3-1 victory over the Giants. Avery Sherman doubled to start the game and scored on an error prior to Palmer’s in-the-park round-tripper’ Jaden Williamson drove Za Ronertson home in the forth with the first hit of winning pitcher Sherman, who tossed a two-hitter and recorded 15 strike-outs. Ryan Carter and KiKi Palmer locked horns in a good old fashioned pitchers in a lone Major League contest between the Giants and Yankees on Friday. The Giants scored first when Carter reached base on an error and scored on a ground ball to the pitcher, but the Yankees came roaring back in their half of the inning with a lead-off single by Avery Sherman, an RBI double by Palmer and a third hit in the frame by Colby Plummer to take a 2-1 lead. Armani Huggins-Bruce and Plummer had hits to take a 3-1 lead for the Yankees in the third, but the Giants tied the game in the top of the fifth when Logan Barfield walked and scored on a fielder’s choice.
The Giants had the potential winning run at third base in the sixth and seventh, but couldn’t get it across. In the Yankee seventh, Palmer was hit by a pitch to start the inning and scored after Huggins-Bruce singled.
