Yankees Claim Win Over Giants

On Friday, May 24, the Physicians Healthcare Yankees claimed a 9-2 win over the Dillon Dental Giants at the Michael Lecholop Field in baseball action.
In the top of the third inning, Physicians Healthcare Yankees’ #8 arrived safely at first due to an error and scored on a Jackson Outlar hit to right for a double to give the Yankees a 6-2 lead.
The Dillon Dental Giants #12 dropped one into right center for a single. Physician Healthcare Yankees’ short stop converted a double play to prevent a possible score later in the inning.
Physician Healthcare Yankees’ #2, Jamison Pittman, hit a lead-off home run in the top of the fifth inning. The Yankees scored 2 more runs in the top of the fifth inning to close out the game 9-2 over the Dillon Dental Giants.
After the game, Daryl “Peanut” Miller thanked all of the parents for allowing the Dillon Kiwanis to coach their children, boys and girls.
A game ball was presented to Jamison Pittman who hit the home run.
The Dudley Saleeby Trophy was presented to the Physicians Healthcare Yankees. Also, individual trophies were presented to each player and every member of the coaching staff.
A special ceremony was held in honor of Lonnie Turner. (See page 1A)
At the conclusion of the ceremony, the Internal Medicine Hurricanes played the B&C Steak House Reds in the second game of the evening.
