Lake View Baseball Falls To Branchville

The Lake View Wild Gators suffered a 4-2 loss to Branchville on Thursday, May 2, in Branchville, in varsity baseball playoff action.
Lake View placed a run on the scoreboard in the top of the first inning and held on to the slim 1-point lead until Branchville scored twice in the bottom of the second inning and added a run in the bottom of each of the third and fourth innings. Lake View sent another run cross home plate in the top of the fifth inning.
Each team managed 8 hits in the game.
Lake View’s Hunter Herlong had 2 hits and 2 rbi in his 4 at-bats while Peyton Jackson managed a double in his 4 at-bats.
Jacob Watkins picked up the win. He pitched 7 innings and allowed 8 hits, 2 earned runs, walked 2, and struck out 9.
Thomas Skipper was charged with the loss. He pitched 6 innings and allowed 8 hits, 4 runs, walked 3, and struck out 5.
Lake View committed 3 errors, and Branchville committed 2 errors.
