Lady Gators Get Win Over Branchville

The Lake View Lady Wild Gators returned home on Saturday, May 4, with a 6-3 win over Branchville in the Class A Lower State softball playoffs.
Lake View never trailed in the game. The Wild Gators scored a run in the top of the first inning and added 3 runs in the top of the second inning. Lake View also added a run in the top of the fourth inning. Branchville got on the scoreboard with a run in the bottom of the fourth inning. Lake View responded with a run in the top of the fifth inning, and Branchville scored 2 runs in the bottom of the fifth inning.
Lake View connected for 11 hits, and Branchville connected for 7 hits.
Lake View’s Raven Locklear not only picked up the win, she also managed 3 doubles and 4 rbi in her 4 at-bats.
Locklear pitched 7 innings and allowed 7 hits, 3 earned runs, walked 3, and struck out 10.
Anna Crider was charged with the loss. She pitched 5 1/3 innings and allowed 8 hits, 2 runs of which 1 was earned, walked 1, and struck out no one.
The Wild Gators’ Milashia Wheeler had 3 hits including a home run and 2 rbi in her 4 at-bats. Spivey Evans had 2 hits in her 4 at-bats.
Each team committed an error in the game.
Lake View is 19-4 for the season.
The Lake View Lady Wild Gators hosts Green Sea Floyds in Class A Lower State playoffs at 6 p.m. on Monday, May 6.
