Gators Quickly Dispose Of Scott’s Branch

The Lake View Wild Gators quickly disposed of Scott’s Branch 15-0 in the run-ruled 3-inning varsity baseball game played in Lake View on Thursday, April 25, in Class A District VI playoffs.
The Wild Gators scored 11 runs in the bottom of the first inning and added 2 runs in each of the second and third innings.
Lake View connected for 15 hits in the game while Scott’s Branch was unable to manage a hit.
Lake View’s Adarrian Dawkins had a double, a single, and 1 rbi in his 2 at-bats. Marquise Jordan had a hit and 2 rbi in his 2 at-bats. Jordan King had a hit and a rbi in his 2 at-bats. Caleb Andrews was perfect at the plate with a hit and 2 rbi in his 1 at-bat. Thomas Skipper had 2 hits and 2 rbi in his 3 at-bats.
Hunter Herlong picked up the win. He pitched 2 innings, and allowed no hits, no runs, walked 1, and struck out 5.
Carlos Cruz was tagged with the loss. He pitched 1 inning and allowed 7 hits, 11 runs of which 4 were earned, walked 2, and struck out no one.
Scott’s Branch committed 2 errors in the game while Lake View did not commit an error.
Lake View is 11-7 for the season.
