OAK GROVE – Mabel Ruth Morris Hicks, 95, died Monday, March 18, 2019 at Pruitt Health in Dillon.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, March 20, 2019, at 3:00 p.m. at Latta Baptist Church with Pastor Rob Pierce, officiating. Interment followed in Magnolia Cemetery. Visitation was held prior to the service from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. in the fellowship hall. Kannaday Funeral Home in Latta, SC is assisting the family.
Mrs. Hicks was born in Duplin County, NC, April 4, 1923, the daughter of the late Rufus and Annie Brown Morris. She was a dedicated member of Latta Baptist Church where she served for several years as the President of the Harriett Dew Sunday School Class. Mabel was the widow of Robert Marshall Hicks.
She is survived by her daughters, Carolyn Rackley (Homer) and Vivian Johnson (Robert) both of Latta, SC; four grandchildren; seven great -grandchildren; three great-great- grandchildren. Mabel was preceded in death by three brothers and four sisters.
