Jackson Hayes Takes Another Step In Football Career

Jackson Hayes took another step in his football career by signing with Campbell University in Buies Creek, N.C., today (Wednesday, December 20), at Dillon High School, Dillon, S.C.
Athletic Director and head Wildcats football coach, Jackie “Coach” Hayes, congratulated Jackson on this accomplishment. Coach thanked Jackson’s parents for the support that they had given him throughout the years.
“Jackson, your parents have brought you up the right way. They have told you what to do. Now, you must make your own decisions”.
Coach stated “It was a pleasure coaching you these years and watching you grow in the game of football”. We look forward to big things to come from you on and off the field in the future. Football is a great sport; however, your education is the most important thing you will ever acquire. “Jackson is a coach’s dream player. He is a model student-athlete who anyone wants to coach. He came to practice and gave 100%. He also played hurt sometimes”.
The entire coaching staff wishes him much success. We appreciate you at Dillon High School.
Jackson has enjoyed playing football for the past five years as tight end and long snapper and will enjoy continuing to play football at Campbell University where he was recruited as a long snapper by Coach Nick Grimes and Head Coach Mike Minter who graduated from the University of Nebraska and played ten years in the NFL as a safety for the Carolina Panthers.
Jackson will major in Exercise Science.
Jackson should fit well at Campbell University as he is a hard-working young man of high character and that’s traits that Campbell University seeks in athletes and students.
Jackson has a solid work ethic and a drive to always do his best in athletics and academics that he will carry from the high school level to the college level. Jackson received the Wendy’s Heisman for Dillon High School this year.
This year Jackson had six catches for 69 yards with an average of 11.5 yards per catch, one touchdown, one 2-point conversion, six solo tackles, and 5 assists.
In 2016 Jackson had one catch for 3 yards and one touchdown plus a 2-point conversion.
In 2015 Jackson had 3 solo tackles and 3 assists.
Jackson also plays baseball.
When not playing football or studying, Jackson enjoys working out, eating, yard work, and watching football.
Jackson has learned a great deal about football from his father, Mike Hayes, who influenced him the most in football and also from the coaching staff at Dillon High School including Coach Hayes, Coach McLaurin, Coach K Rob, Coach Quick, Coach Z, Coach Roller, Coach McIntyre, Coach Spivey, Coach Ray, Coach Norris, Coach Young, Coach Barfield, Coach Gunter, and Coach Page.
Jackson’s parents, Mike and Dana Hayes had this to say about their son: “We, as parents, are so proud of Jackson and his accomplishments, not only on the field, but also in the classroom as well. We are so blessed for Jackson to have this opportunity offered him from the Campbell University coaches and staff. We are excited to know that we’ll be able to watch him play on Saturdays at the next level and also receive a quality education.”
