Dillon Debs Defeat Kershaw

The Dillon Debs 18 and under defeated Kershaw County 10-0 in 6 innings on Saturday, July 9, at Freedom Florence.
Tori Grimsley pitched 2 shut-out innings for Dillon to begin the game.  She struck out 3, walked no one, and allowed no hits.
Marissa “Gator” Tyndall pitched the third and fourth innings for Dillon and struck out 4, walked 1, and allowed no hits.
Madison “Bump” Bailey pitched the fifth and sixth innings  and struck out 1, walked 1, and allowed 2 hits.
Tori Grimsley was 1 for 2 at-the-plate with a rbi. Kurstin Hopkins was 2 for 3 with a rbi.  Marissa Tyndall for 2 for 3.  Erin Bailey picked up a rbi and also picked off 3 runners attempting to steal. Brittany Miller connected for a double and 2 rbi in 2 at-bats.  Taylor Blackmon was 1 for 3 with a rbi. Carley Huggins was 1 for 3 with 2 rbi for the Dillon Debs.
The Dillon Debs 18 and under defeated Florence 6-2 on Sunday, July 10, at Freedom Florence.
Tori Grimsley began the game as the Dillon pitcher and faced 16 batters and struck out 7, walked 1, and allowed 3 hits. Marissa “Gator” Tyndall pitched the fifth, sixth, and seventh innings and struck out 2, allowed 3 hits and 2 runs, and walked 3.up a total of 4 rbi. Madison Bailey was 1 for 2 with a rbi, Carley Huggins was 1 for 3 with a rbi. Erin Bailey connected for 1 hit in 1 at-bat. Taylor Blackmon was 1 for 3, and Kurstin Hopkins was 1 for 3 for the Dillon Debs.
The Dillon Debs will face the winner of the Florence/Sumter All Stars who played on Monday, July 11.
The Dillon Debs will play at 6:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 12, at Freedom Florence.
With a win, the Dillon Debs will be the state champions and will head to the World Series.
