The Woodmen of the World, Chapter 120, Dillon, held their annual awards banquet on September 24th.
Ron Owens, president, gave the welcome and led the Pledge of Allegiance. Tim Hunt, auditor, gave the invocation.
A buffet dinner followed.
The introduction of the national and state officers was given by Wendell Merritt.
Local officers were introduced by Ron Owens. Tim Houlahan introduced the field forece. The following awards were presented:
—Caring For Others award—presented to Mrs. Harriett Stephens by Kathy Hunt.
—Community Leadership Award—presented to Sheriff Major Hulon by Gail Woodle and Edwin Stephens.
—Environmentalist Award—presented to Daniel Baxley by Justin Price.
—Fraternal Spirit Award—presented to Nell Price by Elaine Owens.
—Fraternal Spirit Youth Award—presented to Carter Berry by Edwin Stephens.
—Community Partner Award—presented to Dillon Rescue Squad (accepted by Cliff Arnette) by Edwin Stephens.
A memorial service was conducted by Judy Herring.
Door prizes were presented by Gail Woodle and Nell Price.
Closing notes and prayer was given by Edwin Stephens.
