Libby’s Recipes: Honey Date And Nut Bars

I just got this recipe and hope to make it this week.  It sounds good.

HONEY DATE
AND NUT BARS
2 tablespoons butter, melted
1/2 cup honey
2 eggs, well beaten
3/4 cup flour
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
Dash of salt
1/2 cup dates, finely chopped
1/2 cup chopped nuts
Powdered sugar

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.  Butter an 8 inch square cake pan.  Mix all ingredients (except powdered sugar) in order listed.  Spread mixture in pan and bake approximately 25 minutes or until firm and lightly browned.  Cool 5 to 10 minutes then cut into bars 1 X 4 inches in size.  Roll in powdered sugar while still warm.
