District Four Board Elects Officers

The Dillon District Four School Board elected officers and took up other business at their last meeting.
This was the last meeting to be held in the district office located on the J.V. Martin campus.

A motion was made by board member Earl Gleason to elect the same slate of officers for the board seconded by board member Mike McRae. Ethel Taylor will continue to serve as chairman. Earl Gleason, Jr. was re-elected vice-chairman, and Burt Rogers was re-elected treasurer.
The following personnel recommendations were approved: Resignation: Karen Moody – Special Needs Bus Assistant; Recommendation: David A. Gibbons – Custodian at Dillon High School; Resignations at the End of the 2015-2015 SY: Tony M. Blackwell – Teacher at Dillon Middle School; Bert Cook – Teacher at Dillon High School; and Cathy Smith – Guidance Counselor at Dillon High School; Retiring at the End of 2014-2015 SY: Kathy Cottingham – Teacher at Gordon Elementary and Linda Price – Teacher at Gordon Elementary; Recommendations for the 2015-2016 SY: Paige Coward – Teacher at Dillon Middle School, Alexandra Huggins – Teacher at East Elementary, and Joe King – Teacher at Dillon High School.
Lynn Liebenrood gave a report on student services. The tentative Title I, Title II, and Title III budgets were discussed.
Liebenrood also presented the “Profile of the South Carolina Graduate” from the S.C. Department of Education.

Liebenrood said ESOL summer school and reading camp will be housed at Gordon this summer.
A construction update was also given. District offices were scheduled to move on June 3rd. The auditorium is not quite finished.
