Lady Gators Fall 55-29 to Hemingway Tigers

Lake View’s Lady Wild Gators fell 55-29 to the Hemingway Tigers on Friday night in girls varsity action.

The Tigers took a 7-5 lead in the first quarter, and outscored Lake View 15-11 in the second for a 22-16 lead at the half. Hemingway outpaced the Gators 12-4 in the third and 21-9 in the fourth to seal the win.

The Tigers were led by Diamond McFadden with a game-high 29 points and Zasia Thomas added 15 in the win. Miracle Polk scored five for the Lady Tigers; Latanya Barr, 4; and Kirsten Cooper and Niesha Cantey each added two.

Lake View was led by Olivia McDaniel with 13 points. Jasmine Ford and Na’Kedra Page each added seven, and Taylor Bethea earned two.

Hemingway improved to 10-2 overall and 2-0 in Region 8-A, while the Lady Gators slipped to 5-3 and 0-2 in the region.

Lake View is scheduled to host Carvers Bay tonight at 6:00 p.m. and will be on the road this Friday to take on Creek Bridge. Next Tuesday, the Lady Gators will be at Green Sea Floyds, and on Friday, January 30, the Gators will be back at home to host Hemingway.
