Dillon – Dora McDaniel Gasque, 85, died at her residence, Sunday, November 9, 2014. Funeral services will be held 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, November 12, 2014 at Main Street United Methodist Church with interment in Greenlawn Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. Tuesday, November 11, 2014 at Kannaday Funeral Home in Dillon.
Mrs. Gasque was born in Dillon County, SC, October 22, 1929, the daughter of the late Jasper and Ruby Barrineaux McDaniel. Dora was a devoted member of Main Street United Methodist Church where she was the President of the Marvin Rast Sunday School Class, member of the Joy Club, and loved to cook the Wednesday night meals. She enjoyed her meetings with the Hardee Social Club, and was very active member of the Dillon Booster Club, and Avalon Booster Club. Dora and her husband operated a grocery store, nursery, and landscape business before her retirement. She loved cooking and was known for making candy and baking cakes. Dora was the widow of Marion Michaux Gasque.
She is survived by son, David E. Gasque (Dana) of Beaufort, SC; daughters, Marian Gasque (Walt Wheeler) of Beaufort, SC, Audrey G. Willis (William) of Spartanburg, SC; grandchildren, Keith Campbell, Baker Campbell, Colin Gasque, Cody Gasque, Connor Gasque, Joseph Gasque; five great-grandchildren; and brother Earl McDaniel (Malloy) of Florence, SC. She was predeceased by her son, Tommy Gasque, grandchild, Cooper Gasque; three brothers; and two sisters.
