Zetas To Celebrate Finer Womanhood

The Marion-Dillon Graduate Chapter of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. will celebrate Finer Womanhood with a week of community activities and a banquet.  During Zeta Week the members of Mu Kappa Zeta Chapter will read to preschool students, present a workshop on healthy snacks to elementary students, do arts and crafts and present a workshop on “Healthy Living” at an adult care program, have a voter registration rally and other special projects designed by the national known ZHOPE (Zetas Helping Other People Excel) Program.
The banquet will be held on Saturday, March 15; 6:00 p.m. at the AC Robinson Family Resource Center, Penderboro Road in Marion. The speaker for the Finer Womanhood Banquet will be Rev. Dr. Georgeann T. Pringle.  Pringle is a member of Gamma Zeta Chapter of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. located in Charleston, South Carolina. She is also the pastor of Good Hope A.M.E. Church, Cope, South Carolina. The theme for this year’s banquet will be “Building on the Principles of Zeta . . . While Blazing New Paths”.
The Zetas are especially excited about this banquet because they will be recognizing their brothers of Phi Beta Sigma on their one hundredth year of organization (January 9, 1914 at Howard University, Washington, DC).  The Sigmas encouraged the organization of a sister group, Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, becoming the first official Greek letter sister and brother organization.
