Ms. Betty Ruth Barfield, 72, died Sunday, January 1, 2012 at McLeod Hospital of Dillon SC after an illness.
The funeral service was held Wednesday, January 4th, 2012 at 3:00 pm at Second Baptist Church of Dillon, directed by Cooke Funeral Home of Lake View, SC.  The family received friends from 6:00 to 8:00 pm on Tuesday, January 3rd, 2012 at Cooke Funeral Home.
Ms. Barfield was born in Dillon County on April 19, 1939, the daughter of the late Ernest and Gladys Thompson Barfield.  She was a member of Second Baptist Church of Dillon, SC.
Surviving Ms. Barfield are her sisters, Gaynelle Barfield of Lake View, Nina Faye Campbell of Dillon, Shirley Ann Campbell of Roanoke, Va. and multiple nieces and nephews.
Ms. Barfield was preceded in death by her brothers Ernest Gene Barfield and William Perry Barfield, and one sister, Patricia “Pat” Barfield.
