District Four Board Of Trustees Meets

The Dillon District Four Board of Trustees met on October 17th.
The board recognized those who had perfect scores on certain sections of the PASS test. Students recognized were Matthew Thomas Edwards, Joshua Benton Dean, and Taylor Lynn Cribbs.
The board also discussed a GEAR UP grant award for J.V. Martin Jr. High School. The grant spans seven years. J.V. Martin’s first year allocation is $116,804. (See the Tuesday, October 25th issue of The Dillon Herald for further details.)
A facilities update was given. Superintendent Ray Rogers said they continue to face daily and weekly issues with the Dillon and Lake View projects. (See the Tuesday, October 25th issue of The Dillon Herald for further details.)
The budget update was given. The balance of all funds as of 9/30/11 was $3,229.590.04 for Dillon and $256,319.50 for Lake View.
Alice Grice presented the Students services update. She requested that on the School Improvement Grant that the criteria for the Teacher Incentive Program be changed from movement by category to movement by level. The board approved this change.
She also updated the board on the Title I Supplemental Educational Services parent/provider fair that she was holding on Friday, October 21st.

Resignations-Joseph L. Hunt (Teacher at J.V. Martin Jr. High), Jonathan Lampley (Custodian)
Termination-Tracey Lane (Food Service Operator)
Recommendations-Robin M. Allen (ESOL Parent Liaison), Cynthia Hulon (Graduation Coach/GEAR UP Grant), Harold Lambert (Teacher at J.V. Martin), Wayne McRae (Teacher at J.V. Martin), Andrew Britt (Custodian), and Edward Parker (Food Service Operator).
