Small Town America And The Latta Community Choir

Dear Editor,
My husband, Jack Kaneft, is a “city boy”, having lived in St. Louis, Chicago, Birmingham, and lastly, Columbia, South Carolina. When we travel to my hometown of Latta, he rhapsodizes about the virtues of “Small Town America.” The warmth and graciousness of the people where everyone seems to know everyone else and they still welcome us into their midst; the atmosphere of homeiness and friendliness reaching out from front porches and churches; the Main Street with a slower pace than it’s citizens would probably prefer, but attractive to those of us accustomed to traffic congestion and traveling some distance for necessities. Our love and pride is always multiplied when we come to hear the Latta Community Singers in concert. It was so this past weekend when the presented their patriotic performance on Saturday. Cindy LeGette and all the singers and musicians are to be celebrated for their stellar performance and their dedication of time to bring it off so beautifully.
Sincerely,
Betty Lane Kaneft
