Economic Development Summit Held In Lake View

The Dillon County Economic Development Partnership (DCEDP) and Northeastern Strategic Alliance (NESA) hosted a economic development summit in Lake View, S.C. Continuous Dialog Consultant, Carol Johnson conducted the summit. Carol has a BA in Marketing from Florida State University and a MBA in Finance from Indiana University. Economic Development Customers include State Organizations, Utilities, Chambers of Commerce, Local Communities and Public-Private Partnerships. She has been chosen as the key note speaker by Fortune 500 companies, Industry Conferences and Economic Development Associations.
Dillon County Economic Development Partnership attendees were Tonny McNeil, Director, Doug Miller, Chairman, and members Robbie Coward, Josephine Gilchrist, Dr. Linda Hayes, Charles McLaurin, Alvin Nobles, Mayor Nancy Brigman, Mayor Temp Smith, Heyward Proctor and Robert Abson. Others present were Administrator Clay Young and Councilman Bobby Moody.
The Town of Lake View provided the Community Center for this event. This included all the equipment needed for a successful summit. Nobles Corporation provided lunch and refreshments catered by Wanda Hayes of Lake View, S.C.
The following topics of Dillon County Economic Development Competitiveness were discussed in detail:
1) Product Ready (Land, Ready Sites, Buildings, Infrastructure)
2) Process Ready (Marketing, Easy to Do Business, Target Prospect Attraction)
3) People Ready (Workforce, Leadership, DCEDP Membership, Regionalism)
4) Profit ROI (Funding, Priorities, Measureable Action Plans)
There was also discussion concerning the following:
-Ranking Potential Actions that Position DCEDP for Greater Success in less than 3 years
-Development of Top Action Plans for Economic Development Success
-Identification of areas or items that we need to know more about,
-Commitment to making Dillon County’s Economic Development a success.
Continuous Dialog compiled the notes from the summit and has submitted an action plan to the partnership.
This summit will be a major asset to Dillon County’s success in further economic development.
