Lake View Falls to Carvers Bay; Bears Forfeit to Lady Gators

The Lake View Wild Gators fell to the Carvers Bay Bears on Friday, January 28, with a final score of 51-46.

The Bears lead the first three quarters, outscoring Lake View 11-8, 11-10, and 15-9. The Gators managed to outscore Carvers Bay in the fourth, 19-14, but it wasn’t quite enough to close the gap.

Lake View was led by Michael Paige, who scored a game-high 16 points, and Shaquille Foxworth, who added 10 points. Jordan Miller made six points and Tyrese Brunson made four. Chris Ford and Rashawn McDonald each scored three points, and Jamal Ford and Darious Leonard each contributed two.

For the victors, Teondre Bromell scored a team-high 15 points, nine boards, and five steals. Da’Shaun Aikens added nine points for the Bears and shot 70 percent (7-of-10) from the free-throw line.

Tyrone Brown and Rayshod Pittman each added eight points for the Bears. Alton Nesbitt made five points, with Thomas Smalls scoring four, and Rayshad Dorsey adding 2.

The Carvers Bay boys improve to 13-6 overall and 7-1 in Region 8-A. The Bears will next face Latta on Tuesday.

Lake View’s next matchup will be on Friday, February 4, when they are scheduled to host Creek Bridge. The Creek Bridge Warriors are 15-4 overall and 6-2 in the region.

GIRLS

The Carvers Bay Bears forfeited their game against the Lady Gators on Friday.

A representative for Carvers Bay posted the following on MaxPreps.com to explain the forfeit:

“We were scheduled to play Lake View; 5 of our players scheduled an event that conflicted with our scheduled game, hence the game versus Lake View was forfeited.”

The Carvers Bay Girls are now 0-16 this season.

The Lady Gators improve to 5-8 overall and 5-4 in the region. They’ll next face Creek Bridge when they host the Warriors on Friday, February 4.
