Kevin Thomas took over as the new Dillon County Chamber of Commerce Chairman at the Chamber’s annual banquet on January 7th.
Thomas is a resident of Dillon and owner of House of Thomas Funeral Home.
He attended the schools of Dillon County, University of South Carolina and Gupton-Jones College of Funeral Service.
He is a licensed funeral director and embalmer for both South and North Carolina.
He is a member of Miracle Temple Family Fellowship in Lake View serving as an associate minister under the leadership of Robert and Tunya Roundtree. He is the chairman of the Borad of Dillon County Chamber of Commerce, President-elect of the Dillon Rotary Club, past polemarch of Florence Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity Inc., State Chaplain for the South Carolina Morticians Association.
He is the son of Tyrone and Georgie Thomas, and he is the father of Kevin Justin Thomas.
Thomas told those in attendance he will work to move the Chamber forward and will be stopping by local businesses to see how the Chamber can serve them better.
He thanked Debbie Locklair for her service as president and also encouraged members to become involved with the Choices program under the direction of Cynthia Hulon.
Thomas said he is looking forward to the opportunity to serve as Chamber Chairman.
