First Baptist Church Holds Candlelight Service

The annual Christmas Eve Candlelight Service of Dillon First Baptist Church was held on Friday, Dec. 24, at 5:00 p.m.

The Prelude to Worship was by Katharine Carlson.

Associate Pastor of Worship and Families Jon Whisnand had the “Call to Worship.”  Jon Whisnand led the church in “O Come, All Ye Faithful” and other selections.

Dr. William R. Cullum, Jr., pastor, welcomed all in attendance.

The Lighting of the Christ Candle was by the Jay Arnette Family.

The Response Chorus, “We All Bow Down” was sung by the congregation.

Christmas Praise, “Cherish That Name,” was sung by Ramona Bertram and Jon and Martha Whisnand.

The congregation sang “Joy to the World!  The Lord is Come” followed by the Praise Singers who sang “Emmanuel, Hallowed Manger Ground.”

Pastor Cullum had the Christmas Meditation.

The Lighting of the Candles was followed by the singing of “Silent Night, Holy Night” and “O Come, Let Us Adore Him.”

The Benediction was by Pastor Cullum.

The Parting Chorus was “Joy to the World.”

Following the Candlelight Service, everyone witnessed a live nativity outside of the church.

First Baptist Church is located at 400 North First Avenue, Dillon.
