William Monroe “Catfish” Powers

LATTA – William Monroe “Catfish” Powers, 55, died at his home in Latta, SC, December 3, 2010. Visitation will be held in Kannaday Funeral Home in Latta, Saturday December 4, 2010 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM. Funeral services will be Sunday December 5, 2010 at 2:00 PM in the Kannaday Funeral Home Chapel in Latta with burial in Tarte Cemetery.
Mr. Powers was born in Dillon, SC the son of the former Annie E. “Lib” Turner and the late Calvin Coolidge Powers. He was employed with Celotex Manufacturing as a press operator several years ago. He was of the Holiness faith.
He is survived by his mother Annie “Lib” Lane, five sisters; Minnie (Tony) Allen of Dillon, SC, Annie Ruth Gandy of Darlington, SC, Patricia Bryant of Latta, SC, Emily “Pam” Register of Darlington, SC, and Faye Turner of Darlington; and a special friend “Fat Jack”. He was predeceased by a brother, Calvin “Sam” Powers and a sister, Sandra Thompson.
