Perdue Launches Recipe Dedication Program To Support Susan G. Komen Cause

SALISBURY, Md.– Perdue Farms Incorporated recently announced the PERDUE® Recipe Dedication Program, which encourages consumers to contribute to an online recipe book by sharing their favorite chicken recipes and dedicating their submissions to anyone touched by breast cancer. For every recipe uploaded to www.perdue.com™, Perdue Farms will donate $1.00 to Susan G. Komen for the Cure® with a maximum of $10,000. The Recipe Dedication Program is in addition to Perdue Farm’s 2010 donation of $150,000 to Susan G. Komen for the Cure®. Over the last two years, Perdue Farms, has donated a total of $275,000 to support Susan G. Komen for the Cure® and its mission to save lives and end breast cancer forever.
Through Nov. 30, consumers can log onto www.perdue.com/recipededications <http://www.perdue.com /recipededications>  and upload their favorite chicken recipe along with their dedication.  The site will feature a searchable collection of all submitted recipes that can be used to create a printable recipe book.
“The Perdue recipe program is being dedicated in memory of Christine Godfrey Whaley who was a Perdue associate for more than 30 years and lost her battle with breast cancer in February 2009,” says Tom Mertensotto, Vice President of Retail Marketing. “Chris was responsible for the development of the initial Perdue consumer website and helping launch our ongoing recipe program, so she was selected to represent the many Perdue associates or their family members who have been impacted by breast cancer.”
Perdue associates are encouraged to submit their personal chicken recipes with a dedication and the company will make the same $1 donation.
The company is also promoting breast cancer awareness through its onsite Wellness Centers, the Perdue Health Improvement Program (HIP) and location nurses.
