SHELVA JEAN COLEMAN YOUNG, 72, of Florence, died Thursday, September 9, 2010 in a Florence hospital after an illness.
Mrs. Young was born in Latta, SC a daughter of Emma Louise Shelley Coleman and the late Harold Coleman, Sr. She was a graduate of Latta High School and Anderson College and had worked in the Florence District One Schools. She was a devoted member of Calvary Baptist Church for over 45 years and a member of Grace Sunday School Class.
She was preceded in death by her father and by her husband, William Edward “Bill” Young, Sr., who died December 25, 2008.
Surviving are her mother of Latta; sons, Eddie (Sherry) Young of Newnan, GA and Keith (Glenda) Young of Florence; grandchildren, Candace Holloman of Florence, Jewel Young and Savanna Young, both of Newnan, GA; brother, Harold (Sylvia) Coleman, Jr. of Marion; sisters, Joyce (Terry) Kennedy of Pamplico, Gayle (Carl) Edwards of Latta, SC and Nancy (Roger) Reece of Murrells Inlet and a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, September 11, 2010 at Calvary Baptist Church. Entombment will follow in the Florence Memorial Gardens Mausoleum directed by Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home.
The family will receive friends from 6 – 8 PM Friday at the funeral home and other at times at 917 Hummingbird Lane, Florence SC.
