Monroe Hinson, 75, died Sunday, December 11, 2011, at his residence.
Funeral services will be held 3:30 P.M. Tuesday in Mt. Calvary Baptist Church with entombment in Evergreen Cemetery Mausoleum directed by Cooper Funeral Home. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
Born in Dillon County, November 4, 1936, he was the son of the late Aaron Hinson and Sadie McDaniel Hinson. He was a lifetime member of Mt. Calvary Baptist Church, was a Mason with Mackey Lodge #77 AFM, and was a Shriner. He was retired from the City of Dillon Fire Department after 39 years of service. He was the widower of the late Sarah Bracey Hinson.
Survivors include his daughter, Sandra (Wayne) Watson of Dillon; son, Eric (Debbie) Hinson of Dillon; grandchildren, Justin Hinson of Columbia, Dustin & Erin Hinson, and Brittany Watson all of Dillon; very special friend, Esther Thomas of Dillon; great-aunt, Catherine McDaniel Proctor of Dillon.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Lois Allen.
