Lady Wild Gators Take Down Trojans 60-29

Lake View’s Lady Wild Gators defeated the Green Sea-Floyds Trojans 60-29 at home in Lake View on Tuesday night.

The Lady Gators outscored the Trojans 12-4 and 12-8 to lead 24-12 at the half, and went 15-12 in the third to widen the gap. Lake View capped the win with a 21-5 fourth quarter.

Jasmine Ford led Lake View with a game-high 18 points and Tranya Ford added 12 with Kayla Sanderson scoring 11 and Olivia McDaniel earning 10. Junetta Strickland scored five for the Gators and Diayah Williams added four.

Paige McDaniel led the Lady Trojans with a team-high 13 points. Kensanya Jackson added five, Quadasia Gillard scored four, and Asia Floyd earned three with Lakeisha Johnson and Jamekia Cokeley each adding two points.

Lake View improves to 3-10 overall and 2-3 in Region 8A. Latta leads the region with a 5-0 record while Green Sea-Floyds is 0-5.

In boys varsity action, the Wild Gators fell 67-44 to Green Sea-Floyds. Lake View took a 16-14 lead in the first quarter, but the Trojans outscored the Gators 20-5 in the second to lead 34-21 at the half. The Trojans kept the lead in the second half, outscoring Lake View 33-23 to earn the win.

Lake View slips to 3-8 overall and 1-4 in Region 8-A. Green Sea-Floyds improves to 2-3 in the region. Johnsonville leads the region and was recently voted second in the state in Class A boys basketball by the South Carolina Basketball Coaches Association.

On Friday, both Lake View teams will be on the road to take on Hannah-Pamplico,and on Tuesday, January 29, Lake View will be at home to host Johnsonville at 6:00 p.m. Make plans to attend to support our local teams!
