Lady Cats Conquer Warriors 57-39

Dillon’s Lady Wildcats earned a 57-39 win over Waccamaw on Tuesday night in girls varsity basketball action.

The Warriors took a narrow 14-13 lead in the first quarter at home on Tuesday, but the Wildcats went 8-6 over the Warriors in the second for a narrow 21-20 lead at the half. The Lady Cats outpaced the Warriors 20-11 in the third, and sealed the win with a 16-8 fourth quarter.

Khamele Manning scored a game-high 16 points to lead the Wildcats and Tejah Breeden added 13 with Kendra McLeod earning 10. Adriana McCollum scored 9 points; Jelissa Fentzlaff, 6; and Cali McRae 3.

Waccamaw was led by Alexis Grove with 15 points and Brianna Brooks with 9. D’Avion Funnye added 7; Madeline Hoffman, 4; and Jazmyn Torrance, 4.

The Lady Wildcats improved to 16-2 overall and 5-0 in Region 8-2A, while the Warriors slipped to 1-4 in the region.

Dillon will be at home this Friday night to host Aynor, and next Tuesday, February 3, the Wildcats will be on the road to face the Mullins Auctioneers. Game time is set for 6:00 p.m., so make plans to attend to support our local team!
