Johnsonville Flashes by Wild Gators 81-59

Lake View’s Wild Gators fell 81-59 to the Johnsonville at home on Tuesday night.

The Flashes took a 19-17 lead in the first quarter before pouring in the points in the second, outscoring the Gators 23-7 to lead 42-24 at the half. The Flashes kept up the pace with a 21-17 third quarter, and both teams added 18 points in the fourth to allow Johnsonville to retain the win.

Cordea Wilson earned a game-high 28 points to lead Johnsonville, with Josh Franklin adding 12 and Adonis Doctor scoring 10. Franklin also picked up 12 rebounds for the Flashes. Shaquille Crouch scored eight; Arkelious Williams, 7; Shawn Lawrence, 5; Dontrea McFadden, 2; J.T. Eaddy, 1; and Tately Anderson and Tushai Edwards each added four.

Darius Leonard led Lake View with a team-high 20 points with Michael Paige added 13. Chris Ford and Corenthious Brunson each added seven points, and Jamal Ford earned eight with Anthony Bines scoring three and Jeremy Moody adding one point for the Wild Gators.

Lake View falls to 3-10 overall and 1-6 in Region 8A. Johnsonville improves to 13-2 and continues to lead the region with an undefeated 7-0 record.

On Friday, Lake View will travel to face Creek Bridge, and on Tuesday, the Gators will be on the road to take on the Trojans at Green Sea-Floyds. On Thursday, February 7, Lake View will host Latta at 6:00 p.m. to wrap up the regular season schedule. Make plans to attend to support our local teams!
