Harriet Burch Jones

Mrs. Harriet Burch Jones, 87, widow of William Paul “Bill” Jones, died Wednesday, February 2, 2011 at Marion Regional Hospital after an illness.
Mrs. Jones was born August 23, 1923 in Anson County, NC, a daughter of the late Benjamin Hamer Burch and the late Mary Ellen Jones Burch. She retired as the Civil Defense Director for Dillon County and also, along with her husband, owned Lake View Furniture for many years. Mrs. Jones was a charter member of the Lake View chapter of the Eastern Star. Mrs. Jones, an avid gardener, was a member of the Business and Professional Women’s Club and was a volunteer worker with the Ladies Auxiliary at St. Eugene Hospital in Dillon. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Dillon.
Mrs. Jones was a loving mother and grandmother, who was loved by all that knew her.
Surviving are: 3 daughters, Millicent Jones Sease and her husband David of Columbia; Paula Anne Jones Radford of Mullins and Mary Ellen Jones McMillan and her husband Gib of Mullins; a son, William “Billy” Jones and his wife Melba of Cheraw; and 7 grandchildren, Marianne Sease, Rebekah Sease, Cassie Radford, Dr. Courtney Jones, William “Billy” McMillan, Harriett McMillan and Paula Anne McMillan.
Mrs. Jones was predeceased by 7 brothers and 4 sisters.
The family received friends Saturday afternoon, February 5, from 12:30 until 2 p.m. in the Mullins Presbyterian Fellowship Hall. Funeral services followed at 2:30 p.m. in the Mullins Presbyterian Church Sanctuary, with the Rev. Jason Brewer and Dr. Darrell H. Holliday officiating. Burial followed at Greenlawn Cemetery in Dillon, by Cox-Collins Funeral Home.
