Gators Lose A Pair of Region Games

The Lake View Wild Gators took an 84-43 loss to Johnsonville on Tuesday and fell 79-78 to Hannah-Pamplico on Friday.

On Tuesday, January 8, the Wild Gators took the road loss from the Flashes. Johnsonville took a 29-14 lead in the first quarter and led 69-32 going into the fourth quarter.

Cordea Wilson led Johnsonville with 21 points, including two three-pointers and nine of 11 free throws. Arkelious Williams and Josh Franklin each added 14 points for the Flashes in the win.
On Friday, the Gators were back home to host Hannah-Pamplico in a close 79-78 loss.

The Gators took a narrow 16-15 lead in the first quarter, but the Raiders went 25-21 in the second to carry a 40-37 lead into the half. Lake View rallied for a 26-17 third quarter and a 63-57 lead heading into the fourth. But Hannah-Pamplico played catch-up in a 22-15 fourth quarter, with Devontae Ellis making two free throws in the final seconds of the game to give the Raiders the win.

Devontae Ellis led Hannah-Pamplico with a team-high 24 points and Roy Ellis added 18 with Ketron Ellis and Jerrid Self each adding 10. Terry Self scored six points for the Raiders in the win.

The Wild Gators are now 2-6 overall and 0-2 in Region 8A. Hannah-Pamplico improves to 4-4 and 2-0 in the region, while Johnsonville is now 8-2 and 2-0.

Lake View will host Creek Bridge tonight at 6:00 p.m. and will travel to face Latta on Friday, January 18. Make plans to attend to support our local teams!
