Services for Elizabeth T. Carter were held 2:00 p.m. Wednesday at Cooper Funeral Home Chapel with burial in Raynham Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation was held 7-9 p.m. Tuesday at Cooper Funeral Home.
Mrs. Carter, 70, died Sunday, January 19, 2014 at Duke University Hospital in Durham, NC.
Born in Lumberton, NC, May 19, 1943, she was the daughter of the late Dalton Thompson and Pauline Elizabeth Harrelson Thompson. She was a member of Raynham Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband of 31 years, Jerry Carter of Hamer; daughters, Gail Gaines of Rowland, NC, and Cindy Godwin of Holly Springs, NC; grandchildren, Jacob & Rachel Godwin; brothers, Dalton Junior Thompson, Bobby Thompson, and Paul Thompson, all of Rowland, NC; nieces, Mistie Rogers and Melanie Thompson; nephew, Bobby Dale Thompson; great nieces, Ranza Eason and Ariel Thompson; great-nephew, Tabor Thompson.
Mrs. Carter was preceded in death by her sister, Sallie Turner.
