The Dillon Kiwanis Dixie Youth Baseball season kicked off Monday night with opening ceremonies at the Michael Lecholop/Kiwanis Park in Dillon.
Every team and player was introduced as part of the opening ceremonies, and the Dillon Kiwanis All Stars were recognized for claiming the 2014 Dixie Youth Majors state championship.
The 2014 Dillon Kiwanis All Stars were honored for their 2014 State Championship win. The championship team included Cooper Lane, Nick Evans, Noah Carter, Bobo McKinnon, Collin Hamilton, Amari Huggins-Bruce, John Rourke, Tristian Brigman, Jared Ivey, Barnes Causey, Trent Johnson, and Jared Darmon. Dr. Dickie Cullum opened the season with prayer, and after the National Anthem, Dr. Walter Blum threw out the ceremonial first pitch, and then the action got underway.
