David Henson Hyatt, Sr.

Services for David Henson Hyatt, Sr. will be held 2:00 p.m. Saturday in Cooper Funeral Home Chapel with burial in Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation will be held 7-9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Mr. Hyatt, 77, died Sunday, January 23, 2011 at his residence.
Born in Dillon County, October 2, 1933, he was the son of the late Levie Hyatt and Cora Lee Tucker Erickson. Dave joined the Army at the age of 17 and served in the Army from 1950 to 1953. He served one year in Korea during the Korean Conflict. He was a construction steel worker on new high rise buildings in the Los Angeles area for more than 20 years.
He was a member of the steel workers labor union local #300 in Los Angeles, CA.
When Dave retired from the construction work in 1987, he moved back to the Dillon area and had worked in the carpet & flooring business for several years.
He loved his Harley Davidson Motorcycle and being with his many motorcycle friends.
He really enjoyed the many charity rides that he participated in the Dillon area. Dave was loved by many and will be missed by all.
Survivors include his sons, Gary Steven Hyatt and David Henson Hyatt, Jr. both of Dillon; brothers, Billy Eugene Hyatt of Orange Lake, FL, Jimmy Lester Hyatt of Oak Island, NC, Victor Lee Hyatt of Fayetteville, NC, Darryl Legrand Hyatt of Dillon, Russell Wolanski of Dillon, and Anthony Knight of Elgin, SC; sisters, Doris Joann Hyatt of Rancho Santa Margarita, CA, Anita Hyatt of Jacksonville, FL, and Martha D. Gunter of Hartwell, GA; grandchildren, Jennifer L. Parker, Sallie D. Large, Melissa E. Pervice, Gary S. Hyatt, Jr., Betty M. Hyatt, Joseph A. Hyatt, Alec Hyatt, Kyle Hyatt, Jared Hyatt, and Nicklus Hyatt; many great-grandchildren.
Mr. Hyatt was preceded in death by his wife, Carol Ann Nenos Hyatt; sister, Sarah Frances Haroff; and brothers, Charles Henry Hyatt and Levie Gerald Hyatt.
