The annual Latta Pig Picking was held on Friday night at the Latta Community Center/Academy Street Park area. Hundreds came through the line to get plates of barbecue, chicken bog, collards, slaw, and bread.
The Dillon County Historical Society will present “Christmas at the Dillon House” on Saturday, December 9 from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and on Sunday, December 10 from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m.
The Lake View Schools will be hosting a talent show for their students from kindergarten to the 12th grade.
The Latta Revitalization Commission will present the Latta Community Singers in concert on December 1st at 7:00 p.m. and December 3rd at 3:00 p.m. at Latta United Methodist Church, 306 North Marion Street, Latta.
The Dillon County Theatre Association, in cooperation with SC Humanities, will investigate the changes that have affected small towns over the past century as it hosts Crossroads: Change in Rural America, a traveling exhibition from the Smithsonian’s Museum on Main Street program. Crossroads will be on view in Dillon from May 18 through May 29, 2019.
On November 28 and 29, 2017 the Latta Schools Educational Foundation will be hosting children’s author and illustrator, Rosemary Wells, for two days of workshops with students, teachers, and parents.
