Intake Area Being Constructed At County Animal Shelter

An intake area is being constructed at the Dillon County Animal Shelter. The Dillon County Council approved the addition of an intake area at a recent council meeting upon the recommendation of the council’s building committee, Dr. Robert Hooker, and Dillon County Animal Control Officer Douglas Pernell.

A Difference Of Values

To The Editor:
After reading the article in The Dillon Herald concerning the Dillon Historic School Foundation (this is the correct name of our organization, not the name as mentioned in the article), I feel that logically, some clarification of values needs to be discussed as there seems to be a big difference between the values of the DHSF and both the Dillon County Board of Education and Dillon School District Four.

S.C. Supreme Court Reinstates Conviction Of Bentley Collins

The South Carolina Supreme Court has reinstated the conviction of Bentley Collins, who “was convicted of involuntary manslaughter and three counts of owning a dangerous animal causing injury to a person after a ten-year-old boy was killed and partially eaten by his dogs, most of whom were pitbull mixes.”
