Latta Christmas Parade Organizers Need Help

For many years, Charles Snipes (Flowers by Charles) put together the Latta Christmas Parade. With the unfortunate passing of Charles this past spring, so passed all of his preparatory paperwork: all contacts, addresses, phone numbers, etc. are nowhere to be found. We who are attempting to pull it all together are asking for your help.

‘Cry Out America’ Prayer Service Held

Unemployment Increases

The state’s seasonally adjusted unemployment rate increased to 6.4 percent in August from a revised 5.8 percent in July.

Students Urged To Participate In Essay, Video Contest On Texting While Driving

The S.C. Press Association and participating S.C. newspapers are challenging Palmetto State high school  students to write an essay, editorial or opinion column that highlights the dangers of texting while driving.  

Dillon County DJJ Participates In ‘Restoring Carolinas’

Dillon County Department of Juvenile Justice staff, volunteers, and clients participated in Restoring Carolinas.

Dillon County Receives Community Spotlight Award

Dillon County was recently honored with a Community Spotlight Award presented by the Original Six Foundation.

Zetas Recognized At National Convention

Zeta Phi Beta Sorority of Marion-Dillon Counties was recognized at the national convention in Washington, DC.   The Zetas placed second for the National ZHOPE Community Award.
