Wagner Receives District Award Of Merit

Dr. Kyle Wagner, Northeastern Technical College (NETC) President, was awarded the District Award of Merit from the Atakwa District of the Boy Scouts of America. The Atakwa District serves Florence, Chesterfield, Darlington, Marlboro, and Williamsburg Counties.
The District Award of Merit is a council award presented by district leadership to Scouters who render service of an outstanding nature at the district level. To be eligible, recipients must serve as a volunteer Scouter and possess an exceptional record of volunteer service.
Wagner serves as Chairman of the Atakwa District and regularly participates in district activities.
Dwayne Skinner, District Director for Atakwa District, presented Wagner with a plaque to commemorate the occasion. “The energy, time, and effort, Wagner commits to the district are exemplary,” Skinner said. “His participation is standout, and his enthusiasm motivates other volunteers to stay involved.”
The mission of the Boy Scouts of America is to prepare young people to make ethical and moral choices over their lifetimes by instilling in them the values of the Scout Oath and Scout Law. Boy Scouts of America provides an educational program for boys and young adults to build character, to train in the responsibilities of participating citizenship, and to develop personal fitness.
