Gracen Grainger has been crowned as Miss South Carolina Teen USA.
She won her title recently at the North Charleston Performing Arts Center in a star studded 80s themed celebration.
Miss South Carolina Teen USA is 18-year-old Hamer native, Ava ‘Gracen’ Grainger, has been a professional model/actress since she was just eight-years-old and is a Screen Actors Guild member.
A freshman at Wofford University, Gracen was Salutatorian of her graduating class at Latta High School and well as captain of the school’s state championship winning academic challenge team.
She was also active as a cheerleader, yearbook editor for two years, vice president of the Interact Club, and a Palmetto Girls State Delegate.
At Wofford, she is a chemistry and biology pre-med double major.
Gracen’s ultimate ambition is to attend medical school and become a research oncologist.
She has achieved two Presidential Gold Service Awards, mainly by working closely with veteran organizations and her personal platform of empowering young girls.
A self-proclaimed thrill seeker, she has an adrenaline-inducing bucket list she continues to edit and achieve.
Saturdays 80s theme was in honor of the Miss South Carolina USA Pageant’s manager RPM Productions. This year marks RPM’s 40th year working with the Miss Universe Organization.
Among the judges who helped choose the two winners were: Actor, comedian and show host Jonathon Bennett; celebrity dentist Dr. Bill Dorfman who is also the founder of the international leadership building program, L.E.A.P. , Vince Minnillo – father of South Carolina native and former Miss Teen U.SA. Vanessa Minnillo Lachey; former Miss Tennessee USA and runner up to Miss USA, Beth Hood-Fromm and Ray Sells, who is director of News and Production for CMT.
Gracen will spend the next year making appearances across the state and beyond. In the spring of 2020, Gracen will represent South Carolina in the Miss Teen USA Pageant.
