Everett Clayton

Everett Clayton, 73, died October 12, 2019 at his sister’s residence.
Born in Saint Pauls, NC, June 14, 1946, he was the son of the late Tom Clayton and Lola Powers Clayton. A great father and best friend to his children, he instilled righteousness and moral character into everyone he knew. He treated his friends like family and his family never went without. A big heart beat in his chest and his generosity and kindness were insurmountable. He was a fierce friend and a guardian angel to his family. He taught his family that winning or losing is irrelevant. All that matters is how hard you fight. He donated to children’s charities in hopes of bettering their lives and brightening their futures.
Survivors include his sons, Mark Clayton (and fiancé, Heidi Caouette) of Elmore, AL, and Timothy Clayton of Hope Hull, AL; grandchildren, Jonathon Clayton, Cierra Malone and Montana Malone; sisters, Marie Lee of Hamer, and Aileene Anderson of Latta; brother, Roy Clayton (and wife, Billie Jean) of Richmond, VA. He had numerous nieces and nephews who loved him greatly.
His absence from this world is a loss to all whose lives he touched and an insufferable loss to those closest to him. Without him, this world will be darker, but Heaven will be brighter.
Cooper Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
