Beatrice “Bea” Arnette McKenzie

Services for Beatrice “Bea” Arnette McKenzie was held 3:00 p.m. Sunday, October 13, 2019 at Mt. Calvary Baptist Church with burial in Greenlawn Cemetery directed by Cooper Funeral Home.
Visitation was held 6:00-8:00 p.m. Saturday, October 12, 2019 at Cooper Funeral Home.
Mrs. McKenzie, went to be with her Lord on October 10, 2019 after an extended period of in-home hospice care.
Born in Dillon County, SC, August 3, 1928, she was the daughter of the late Carlie Arnette and Pearlie Butler Arnette. She was a faithful member of Mt Calvary Baptist Church where she served as Sunday school teacher and GA/Acteens leader for many years. She was an avid gardener who especially loved and cared for her collection of daylilies. Mrs. McKenzie was retired after 50 years from NAPA Motor Parts and Equipment.
Mrs. Bea was a loving and caring daughter, wife, mother, and grandmother. Survivors include her husband of 71 years, Leslie McKenzie of the home; children, Edwin McKenzie of Hamer, Linda McKenzie of the home, Larry (Melanie) McKenzie of Lexington, SC, and John (Ginny) McKenzie of Huntersville, NC; grandchildren, Lisa (Byron) Hagan, Christy (Lance) Kurtz, Marian (Curtis) Rea, Leslie (Ryan) Phillips, Lauren McKenzie, and Travis (Kelly) McKenzie; 10 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and brothers and sisters, Eddie Arnette, Rosa Stone, Alton Arnette, Esther Thomas, and Monroe Arnette. Mrs. McKenzie was preceded in death by her brothers, Albert, Clarence, Clyde, Gentry, and Floyd Arnette and by her great-grandson, Donovan Kurtz.
