The Dillon District Four new teachers luncheon was held at Twin Lakes Country Club on Wednesday, August 7th.
New teachers enjoyed a great meal and were introduced to all in attendance.
East Elementary Shannon Berry said of the event, “Today is one of my favorite days of the year, New Teacher Luncheon for Dillon District Four! I always looks forward to seeing all of the new teachers in our district and introducing any new teachers we have at East, not to mention the fabulous lunch! This event is made possible every year by First Citizens Bank and Dillon District Four. I would like to give a huge thank you to them both,” said Berry. “May this upcoming school year be one of the best ever and may all of the new teachers in Dillon District Four be successful and enjoy this very rewarding profession. We are glad to have you in Black, Blue, and Gold. It’s a great place to work,” she said. The new teachers are:
Gordon
Paul Abrahamson—Mr. Abrahamson comes from the Marlboro County School District. He graduated from Virginia Commonwealth University and received a Masters of Arts from Lander University. He is a resident of Dillon. He has six years of teaching experience and will be teaching Art at Gordon Elementary.
Lisa Lara—Ms. Lara obtained a Bachelors of Arts from the University of South Carolina in Columbia. She holds a Bachelors plus 18. Mrs. Lara brings 34 years of teaching experience from the York County School District. Ms. Lara will be teaching 4th grade.
Lake View High School
Laura Bracey—Mrs. Bracey is a graduate of Francis Marion University. There she received a Bachelors in Elementary Education. She also holds a Masters in both Media Specialist and Administration. Mrs. Bracey comes from Latta High School where she was an Assistant Principal for Instruction. She will be our new Media Specialist.
Terry Lasyone—Mr. Lasyone is a resident of Nichols, SC. He comes from the Marion County School District. He holds a Master’s Plus 30 and brings with him over 16 years of teaching experience. Mr. Lasyone began his teaching in Mississippi and has also taught in the upstate in York and Lancaster Counties. He will be teaching Special Education.
Jennifer Oxendine—Mrs. Oxendine obtained her General Business Administration degree from Seminole State University. She received her Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Central Florida. Mrs. Oxendine has been accepted into the PACE program and she will be teaching Business Education.
Thomas Cannon—Mr. Cannon is a resident of Bennettsville, SC. He obtained an Associate of Arts degree in 2016 from Northeastern Technical College. He received a Bachelor’s of Science Degree from Francis Marion University. Mr. Cannon has been accepted into the PACE program. He will be teaching Middle Level Social Studies.
Dillon Middle School
Elizabeth Carmichael—Mrs. Carmichael holds a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree that she obtained at Francis Marion University. She has taught at both the elementary level and middle school level. Mrs. Carmichael is coming from Dillon School District Three and brings over 23 years of teaching experience. She will be teaching 6th grade.
Connie Revels—Mrs. Revels is a resident of St. Pauls. She is a retired educator from North Carolina. She is bringing over 25 years of teaching experience from Cumberland, Hoke, and Robeson Counties. Mrs. Revels will be teaching 7th grade ELA.
Sabastine Nkeng—Mr. Nkeng is with the FACES program. He is from the Republic of Cameroon. Sabastine holds a Bachelor’s Degree. He will be teaching Middle Level Math.
George Marston—Mr. Marston is a resident of Laurinburg, NC. He recently retired from the Public Schools of Robeson County. He received his undergraduate and three Master’s degrees from the University of North Carolina at Pembroke. Mr. Marston will be teaching 6th grade.

Elementary School
Cathy Lovett—Mrs. Lovett is a resident of Tabor City, NC. She holds a Bachelor’s Plus 18. She is a recent retiree from North Carolina. She brings over 26 years of teaching experience from the Columbus County School District. Mrs. Lovett will be teaching 4K.
East Elementary School
Courtney Cox—Mrs. Cox is a 2019 graduate of Francis Marion University. There she obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education. Mrs. Cox did her student teaching with us at East Elementary. She will be teaching second grade this year.
South Elementary
School
Pamela “Marty” Watson— She received her bachelor’s degree from Coastal Carolina University. She also holds a Master’s degree. Mrs. Watson brings to South 22 years of teaching experience from Dillon School District Three. She will be teaching second grade.
Dillon High
School
Timothy Hyatt—Mr. Hyatt is a former graduate of Dillon High School. He graduated from Francis Marion University in December of 2018 with a Bachelor’s degree in English. He will be teaching English 3.
Heather Small—Mrs. Small attended Northeastern Technical College and obtained a Business Management degree. She also obtained a degree in Business Administration from Coker College. Mrs. Small has been accepted into the PACE program. She will be teaching accounting.
Katherine Altman—Miss Altman is a 2019 graduate of Coastal Carolina University. At Coastal, she obtained a degree in Chemistry. Miss. Altman has been accepted into the PACE program. She will be teaching Biology 2.
Charmaine Walker-Davis—Mrs. Walker-Davis is with the FACES program. She is a native of Jamaica. She holds a Bachelor’s Plus 18. Mrs. Walker-Davis will be teaching Algebra 2.
Mrs. Rochel Squire—Mrs. Squire is with the FACES program. She is a native of Jaimaica. Mrs. Squire holds a Bachelor’s degree and has 11 years of teaching experience. She will be teaching English 1.
Ngum Bamah—Mr. Ngum is with the FACES program. He is a native of Cameroon. He has holds a bachelor’s degree, and he has 18 years of teaching experience. Mr. Ngum will be teaching Prob/Stats.
