DILLON – Grace J. Smiley Springer, 94, died Saturday, June 22, 2019, at her home. Memorial services will be held on Wednesday, June 26, 2019, at 11:00 a.m. at Main Street United Methodist Church in Dillon with Rev. Henry Altman officiating. Kannaday Funeral Home is assisting the family in Dillon, SC.
Grace was born on June 3, 1925, in Rushville, Indiana, the daughter of Lee and Aillene Moore Smiley. She attended Main Street United Methodist Church in Dillon. Mrs. Springer retired after thirty years as a successful Realtor in Maryland. Grace was the widow of Robert Franklin Springer
She is survived by her sons, Stephen Charles Springer (Carol) of Austin, TX, Scott Emerson Springer (Margaret Carney) of Columbia, MD, Mark Sterling Springer of Dillon, SC; adopted son, Michael Real of Dillon, SC; grandchildren, Keri Tidwell (David), Amy Woodruff (Marc), Chad Springer (Amy); and great-grandchildren, Matthew Tidwell, Lianna Tidwell, Andrew Tidwell, Luke Woodruff, Stephen Woodruff, Barrett Woodruff and Olive Springer. Grace was predeceased by her brother, Gerald Smiley and sisters, Rosemary Miller and Betty D’Journette.
