Lady Wildcats Softball Season Comes To End

The Dillon Lady Wildcats varsity softball season came to an end on Wednesday, May 1, 7-0, at the hands of Hanahan in Class 3A District VII playoffs in Hanahan.
This is the second season in a row that Hanahan has ended the
Wildcats’ run in the playoffs.
Hanahan scored 4 runs in the bottom of the first inning and added 3 more runs in the bottom of the sixth inning.
Hanahan had 8 hits in the game while holding Dillon to 4 hits.
Dillon’s Abby Bristow was perfect at the plate with 2 hits in 2 at-bats. Logan Grice connected for a double in her 3 at-bats, and Monazia Sowells had a hit in 3 at-bats.
Golden Thrower picked up the win. She pitched 7 innings and allowed 4 hits, 4 runs, walked no one, and struck out 2.
Monazia Sowells took the loss for the Wildcats. She pitched 6 innings and allowed 8 hits, 7 runs of which 4 were earned, walked 2, and struck out 1.
Dillon ended the season with 15 wins and 7 losses.
Each team committed 2 errors in the game.
